Why we built it

Remindo was my wife's idea. She wanted one place at home where all of us could just press and talk, in whatever language came naturally. I turned out to need it most. On busy days I forget to drink water, then wake at night with a scratchy throat and can't fall back asleep. Now Remindo tells me to drink a glass before bed, every night. Our daughter keeps track of her own things with it too.

I'm Sean. I've spent my career building software and hardware, and I build Remindo near Seattle. AI does most of the work a bigger team would do, and that's what makes our price possible. What is Remindo?
A countertop family calendar you set by voice. It has an 8-inch screen and two buttons. Not an app.
Do I need an app?
No. Set up Wi-Fi right on Remindo's screen, then use it on its own. No app, no account.
Is there a monthly fee?
No monthly fee for Kickstarter backers and early supporters. Their voice service is free for life. The purchase page will confirm whether your purchase includes it.
Is it always listening?
No. It only listens when you press a button. There's no wake word, background recording or camera.
What happens to my voice?
Your recording is sent to an AI service to understand your request, then deleted. Remindo saves the reminder text, date, time and label, along with AI-generated audio.
Do you sell my data or use it for ads?
No. We don't sell your voice or reminder content or use it for personalized advertising.

What languages does it understand?

Its AI recognizes most common languages. The screen is in English. If you're unsure about your language, email us.

Is there a daily limit?

Each Remindo adds 50 voice tasks a day to a shared household allowance. Three devices give your family 150 tasks a day.

What if the Wi-Fi goes down?

Voice features and syncing pause until you're back online.

How does Announce work?

Hold the Announce button, speak, and let go. Every Remindo in the house says it.

Do several Remindos share one list?

Yes. Add it in the kitchen, see it upstairs. Every Remindo in the house shares one list.

Can I hear a reminder again?

Yes. Tap the speaker icon to replay it.

Can I chat with it?

No. Remindo saves reminders, announces them and finds what you saved.

Will reminders use my own voice?

No. Remindo uses AI-generated speech, not your recorded voice.

Can I delete my data?

Yes. You can delete reminders, history or family labels, or reset Remindo. Related reminder text and AI-generated audio are deleted. Backup copies are overwritten on the backup schedule.

Does it recognize who is speaking?

No. It doesn't identify speakers or create voiceprints. Family labels are names you choose to organize reminders.
